National Sand Sculpting Festival

Head over to Revere Beach in Massachusetts between the 20th and 22nd of July for the annual National Sand Sculpting Festival. The festival is expected to pull as many as 300,000 attendees from all over the country and beyond. Master Sculptors from all over the world will converge at Revere Beach, as they do every year, to compete in the professional sculpting contest that attracts both national and international media coverage. The best part of this? It’s all free and open to the public.

Oyster Festival

The Oyster Festival has been scheduled to go down between the 7th and 9th of September in East Norwalk. This is an annual event that started back in 1978 with 10,000 attendees, and this year the event is estimated to attract as many as 60,000 attendees. The food court at the Norwalk Veteran’s Memorial Park, where the event is set to take place, will be packed with both seafood and non-seafood options, so don’t shy away is you are not a seafood buff. You will get to participate in fun activities such as oyster slurping competitions, amusement rides, live music entertainment, and oyster history displays.

Brooklyn Fair

This event is set to happen between the 23rd and 26th of August. This annual event began in 1809 and is the oldest agricultural Fair in the United States, and one of the most anticipated events in the greater New England territory. This year you can expect musical headliners like Lady Antebellum and Collin Raye as well as a myriad of activities including tractor pulls, pig races, arm wrestling contests, and livestock displays. Head on down to Fairground in Brooklyn for an authentic country feel.

Litchfield Jazz Festival 

The Litchfield Jazz Fest will go down between the 28th and 29th of July in Litchfield Hills. The very first instalment of this annual event happened in 1996 with a line-up of artists that is still enviable to date. The line-up included Christian McBride, Diana Krall, and Terence Blanchard. This year, the line-up will feature some of your favorite acts including Zaccai Curtis, Cindy Blackman Santana, Donald Harrison, Eddie Palmieri, and many more.
